Based on the provisions contained in the regulatory rules for the establishment of non-profit training units issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (17) dated 15/1/1430 AH, which stipulates that the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation is competent to issue licenses to non-profit institutes and academies, and pursuant to this system, an institute called the "Saudi Technical Institute for Renewable Energy" was established as a non-profit training unit licensed by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation under License No. (270222) dated 25/7/1443 AH, and it shall have a legal personality and an independent financial status, and under the umbrella of the National Center for Strategic Partnerships.

The Board of Directors was formed pursuant to the approval of His Royal Highness the Minister of Energy in Letter No. 43.2.1/4078 dated 29/8/1443 AH from representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, and the National Center for Strategic Partnerships, in addition to energy companies and support services.

Regulatory Character

It is one of the institutes system whose boards of directors are approved by the Ministry of Energy to support localization and employing young people in energy professions and jobs and its logistics services. The institute is supervised by the National Center for Strategic Partnerships www.coe.com.sa, which specializes in managing the integrated relationship between the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) and the private sector, to meet the needs of the labor market in the Kingdom for qualified cadres in technical and professional fields, by building strategic partnerships with the private sector to operate non-profit training units and supervise the provision of specialized training programs that are compatible with the Saudi labor market. The center also supervises the operational process of the institutes, such as issuing and renewing institute licenses, approving certificates of graduates of partnership institutes, and ensuring the implementation of the requirements of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.
